Inauguration of social activites

Third day of Thottabhagom convention began at 3 pm. The function began with song of AY choir team. Next Fr. Fr. Joju Mathews welcomed our chief guests namely our Metropolitan H.E Dr. K. P. Yohanan, Marthoma Metropolitan of Adoor diocese Rev Joseph Mar Baranabas, Bishop Samuel Mathew (Believers Church), Rev. Fr. Roy Mathew (Knanaya Church), Rev. Fr. Scariah, Dora staff and Dora members.

During the welcome speech Fr. Joju Mathews, Managing Director spoke about opening 10 branches this coming year. Five of the branches will function this March.

After that Fr. Joju Mathews invited Mr. Shine Varghese, COO, Dora on stage. Mr. Shine gave a brief report about Dora and the various programs Dora had conducted last year. Also he introduced the new loan of Dora, Make In Kerala.

Next was a brief presentation on DORA.

Next was felicitation speech by our Metropolitan H.E Dr. K.P. Yohanan. Later Rev. Fr. Joju Mathews invited Mathoma Metropolitan Rev. Joseph Mar Baranabas to speak a few words.

Next was vote of thanks by Dora’s Business Development Manager Mr. Mathew P D. The program ended with prayer by Rev. Fr. Roy Mathew (Knanaya Church)

THOTTABHAGOM CONVENTION


Thotabhagom convention began at 5:30 pm with devotional song by AY choir. Our Metropolitan H.E the Most Rev. Dr. K.P. Yohanan and Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan inaugurated the convention.

Inaugural speech was by our Metropolitan Dr. K. P. Yohanan, Bishop Dr. Samuel Mathew, Bishop Dr. Simon John and Bishop Dr. Samuel John.

Welcome speech was by Fr. Joju Mathews.Among the chief guest were also present Fr. Praisin, Fr. Jaba . Fr.  Joju Mathews.The program was hosted by Fr, Libesh and Fr. Manoj. Around 4000 Dora members were present. Dora staff and members of Konni, Karukachal, Ranni, Erumely, Charummodu, Thiruvalla.

The purpose of organising this convention was to encourage people to have care and compassion for each other and strengthen their faith and to also bring hope and healing into their lives.

RUN KERALA RUN


Run Kerala Run, which began on 20/01/2015 braced up a united show of strength as the promotional event of the 35th National Games. Over a crore of people took part in the run, covering a distance of 200 m to 800 m at each point, and identifying themselves as supporters of the multi-event games to be held from January 31 to February 14. The mass race was held at 21 mega points, 226 mini mega points, and over 10,000 ordinary points.
The key attraction of the effort was the games goodwill ambassador Sachin Tendulkar took part in the race along with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Ministers.The race began with a pledge administered to the participants by Governor P. Sathasivam at 10.15 p.m. before the formal flag-off.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY


General Assembly was held at St. Thomas Nagar, Kuttapuzha, Thiruvalla from 4th January to 11th January 2015.

General Assembly commenced on Sunday, 4th January 15, 2015 with flag hosting at St. Thomas Nagar. On 5th January Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan inaugurated Believers Church General Assembly. Our most honorable H.E Dr. K.P.Yohanan Metropolitan and Sri. P.J. Kurien (Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha) were also present during the program.

The theme of the program was “That they may be One”


6000 people including bishops, clergies, deacon and laypeople were among the audience gathered for the assembly. 

On 6th Janaury, Sri Ramesh Chennithala (Minister of Home Affairs, Kerala) inaugurated the Exhibition Hall in the presence of our most honorable H.E Dr. K.P.Yohanan Metropolitan. During this occasion it was declared officially to construct new toilets for 196 Government Schools lacking sanitation facilities.



Chief Minister Shri. Oommen Chandy inaugurated the new housing project of Believers Church on 7th January, 2015 with our most honorable H.E Dr. K. P. Yohanan Metropolitan. Through this project, the church will construct new homes for 100 poor and homeless families in Kerala. The Ecumenical Harmony Night was also held on the same night. The purpose of the program was to encourage harmony between various denominations.
Aboon Mor Baselius Thomas I (Jacobite Syrian Christian Church), Dr. Zacharias Mar Aprem Metropolitan (Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church), Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan (Marthoma Church), Dr. Geevarghese Mor Coorilose Metropolitan (Malankara Orthodox Church), H.G.Thomas Mor Thimotheos, (Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church), Kuriakose Mor Gregorios Metropolitan (Syrian Orthodox Church), Bishop Thomas Samuel (Church of South India) were the eminent guests for the program. 
During this program, Mr. Lebi Philip Mathew (Chairman, YWCA Kerala Region) was honored as he was selected as the best YMCA regional leader in India. Also the church’s souvenir for the General Assembly was released.


Shri Anto Antony (Lok Sabha MP) inaugurated the Children and Youth Day of Believers Church General Assembly  Dr. K.P. Yohannan, Metropolitan.
DORA had two stalls namely food stall and exhibition stall. Both stalls were a huge success. Our food stall consisted of daily items which were delivered fresh from our dear members. Also we gave away fresh juice, shakes, pickles and fruits. Handicraft products, cherataputte, bamboo products, honey, marayoor charakara, agriculture products were among the other products.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION AT IRITTY



Christmas program for Iritty was held on 23rd December 2014, 11 am at "Chakkarakuttan Balasadanam" Kadathumkadavu, Iritty.

The program was started with prayer by Kumari Ansa Thomas and party. Welcome speech was by Mr. Roy Peter, BM Iritty Dora. Christmas message was by Rev. Fr. Poulose Thadathil (Believers Church, Iritty). Felicitation speech was by Mr. Reji K V, AM Malabar, Mrs. Elsy Jacob, Unit 59, Mr. Venu, Office Secretary 'Chakkarakuttan', Mrs. Lucy, Unit 78, Mr. George, President ' Chakkarakuttan'

Various programs of Chakkarakuttan students and Dora staffs were conducted. The programs included storytelling, carol song, mono act. Next was Christmas cake cutting ceremony by Rev. Fr Poulose Thadathil. Cake was distributed by Mr. Reji K V, AM Malabar.


Gifts were sponsored by Dora staff to all the members of Chakkarakuttan. Vote of thanks by Mrs. Jessy George, BE, Dora-Iritty. Around 65 members participated in the program.  After the program we arranged a delicious meal for all. Totally the program was a wonderful gift for Chakkarakuttan by Dora Micro Finance. The program ended at 2 pm.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION FOR DORA KONNI

Dora Konni celebrated  Christmas at Santhi Sadhanam (Old Age Home) Pathanamthitta on 20/12/2014.  The celebration started at 11: 00 am with prayer of Rev. Fr. Rajan Mathew.



After prayer, he gave a speech on the importance of Christmas. Welcome speech was by Rev. Fr. Aneesh. Dora operation Sr. Executive Sanu Mathew P Koshy inaugurated the Christmas celebration function and delivered a speech about of Christmas. Next was felicitation speech by Dora software Sr. Executive Jeni Abraham. After that Dora Konni Area Manager delivered the presidential address. Followed by Dora Konni branch Manager Rohit Raj delivered vote of thanks . After lunch the program ended at 2 pm.

Visit to Shreya's


Christmas is the time when Christians around the world celebrated the birth of Christ. It's the time to share the message of love, compassion, care and sacrifice which Christ did for us.

This year DORA Head Office staff decided to celebrate Christmas by visiting the sick, homeless and spending time with them.

Under care of our Managing Director Rev. Fr Joju Mathews, DORA Head Office Staff visited Shreyas Charitable Society on Monday, 15th December. 



Shreyas Charitable Society is located at Thumpamon North P.O, Elavanthitta. It is a Charitable Society run by Malankara Marthoma Church. The president of this society is Rt. Rev. Dr. Scariahs Mar Theyophilus Saphron Metropolitan.  Their Director, Rev Fr E.J. George & Co-Ordinator Rev Fr. Reny K Abraham welcomed us.


After prayer by Rev Fr. Reny K Abraham,  a brief idea was given about their organisation through a slideshow. Next program was to pack food kits for the poor people, sick and needy. All Head Office participated in the packing. We packed around 190 food kits. The kit included 5kg rice, 1 kg sugar, coffee,  spices and sprouts and cake.

After that we were treated with sumptuous lunch which was  prepared by staff. 

Next program was to visit the old age. We were shown around by Mr. Joji. Visiting the inmates gave an eye opening experience to HO staff to watch the dying, abandoned, sick and old people.One Ammachi  even sang for us. She requested us to visit her again, we promised her we would come back.
