Medical camp

A medical camp with the support of St. John's Hospital was organised for Kattapana branch members on 21st November. The medical camp focussed on lung and eye diseases. 158 members attended the eye camp and 52 members attended lung camp.

Eminent doctors, pulmonologist Mr. Mathew Thomas and Opthalmologist, Dr. John Mathew examined the patients.

Mushroom cultivation

Members of Kelakam branch were given a class on how to cultivate mushrooms.
20 members attended the class. The class was conducted by Mr. Mohanan, a mushroom cultivation trainer.



Agriculture seminar

Members of Kodungallur, Chalakudy, Mala & Pampakuda branches were benefited this month as agriculture seminar was conducted. This initiative taken by branches encourages members to cultivate organic vegetables in their houses.



Medical camp

Medical camp was conducted for Rajakad branch members on 17th Novenber, 2015. 140 members registered for the camp, free medicines were  given. Dr. Susheela of Nedukandam Jeeva Matah Hospital checked the members.

Global Hand Wash Day

Hand wash day was conducted in our branches. It was conducted on 15th October at Chengennur branch & Karukachal area.

Global hand wash day is a annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of hand washing with soap as an easy, effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and safe lives.

Eye camp was conducted at Adimaly branch members on August 19th, 2015. at Dora Adimaly branch. It was conducted in cooperation with St. John's Hospital, Kattappana. 200 members were registered.

Literacy program conducted for our members

Delhi Sohna branch conducted literacy awareness program for its members on World Literacy Day, which was celebrated on September 8th, 2015. Around 100 members participated. After the class 35 members decided to join the literacy program.

Ranny branch shifted to a new building on 1st September. It was inaugurated by Mr. Raju Abraham, MLA. Fr. Joju Mathews gave presidential address. Panchayat President distributed Ms. Sherly George distributed the loan. 






Chathanoor 5th branch Anniversary

Chathanoor branch celebrated its 5th branch anniversary on August 7th, 2015. Celebration was conducted at branch office. Pr. Jacob Samuel gave the thanksgiving prayer. Mr. John Paul Mathew, AM  and all branch staff was present.

DORA celebrated Onam, like the previous year in a more meaningful way. Onam kits were distributed to the most neediest of members. Those members who relatives were suffering from chronic diseases, bed ridden etc.. were given onam kits.

Mosquito nets distributed at Burari br.

Mosquito nets were distributed at Dora Burari br. on 19th August 2015. Total no: of members participated was 300. People who received the gift were people who lived below poverty line. 

One member was quoted saying  "We had no choice but sleep on the open ground,  but due to the mosquito bites it was very difficult to sleep in the night. But now they received the nets from DORA, they are grateful and happy."

Medical camp at Konni!!!

Medical Camp 

Konni br. conducted free medical camp  in association with BCMC Hospital. Konni on 15th August at Information Centre Hall, Thannithodu, Moozhy.

Mr. Shiju Mathew, BM of Konni br. inaugurated the camp. Mr. Manu (Camp Officer), Mr. Anu Raj (PRO, BCMC Hospital), Ms. Stephy (Nursing Superintend) were among the dignitaries who attended the camp.

40 DORA members attended the camp.

Thiruvalla 5th branch anniversary celebrated!!

Thiruvalla branch celebrated its 5th anniversary on 17th August 2015.


Fr. Oommen Mathew led the devotion. Mr. Shine Varghese, COO, Mr. P D Mathews, Sr. Programs Manager, Ms. Dany Shine, Recovery Officer, Mr. Syno P Varghese, BM of Thiruvalla br. were present. Fr. Siju Mathew gave biblical message.

DORA opened it's 38th branch at Manarkad on 5th Aaugust 2015. Manarakad is the 5th branch under Kottayam area. It started with the blessings of Rev. Fr. Reji Thampan (Vicar, Believers Church). Cash award were given to members children who scored full A+ in Class 10 and Class 12th. Programs were conducted in all areas. Eminent political leaders participated in the program.
